RUN for HOPE

We Run For Hope year 2.... I run for children to those who cannot afford to go to school...

Tambangan Falls in Loay

I love nature trekking thats why if i have time ill visit some of our towns renoned falls... all i can say This is the Life!

Balilihan Falls (Kawasan Falls)

The Kawasan Falls in the municipality of Balilihan is situated about 5 kilometers from the Poblacion and likewise 22 kilometers from Tagbilaran City. The falls is accentuated by a green backdrop of tropical plants and rugged cliffs which is beautiful to behold and cascades into a natural pool. The falls is much shorter compared to Camugao Falls but wider. The falls sits at the center of a network of hiking trails which poses a great challenge to trekkers.

We had so much fun and i know you will too. It will worth your while. I promise.
The good thing, i think, is that this is not a very popular falls yet. And its very peaceful, quiet and safe. It's a flood area with a very moderare current. We were  charged with entrance fees 5php for kids and 10 for adults..

Banana Blossom (Puso ng Saging) Patties: No Meat, Just 100% Banana Blossom!

In cooking Banana Blossom Patties, you’ll need the following:

1 banana blossom (chopped)

1/4 cup flour

2 eggs

cooking oil

3 cloves of garlic (chopped)

1 onion (chopped)

salt and pepper to taste

seasoning (magic sarap)

Instruction:

Of course, peel the banana blossom until what’s left is the part where you will see the lightest shade of the banana blossom. It was somehow tricky for me to determine if I was still peeling the outer skin because I really could’t tell which part goes to the pan and which part goes straight into the trash bag.

Okay, going back. After chopping the banana blossom into tiny pieces,  Mix all the ingredients together–flour, eggs, onion, garlic, salt and pepper, and seasoning.

In your frying pan, pour the vegetable oil and wait until it’s hot enough to fry the banana blossom burger patties. When you’re done, you may even make it more delectable if you dip it with mayo salad dressing.

Banana blossom patty is also great for snack. Instead of the usual beef burger we eat for snacks, why not try this healthy alternative? I am sure your kids will love it too.enjoy!

Gelateria Milano La Vista, 5th Floor | BQ Mall, Tagbilaran City, Philippines

If you go shopping at the BQ-Mall in Tagbilaran, it’s almost a „must“ to pass by at the “Gelateria Milano“. The place is located in the newer part of the mall on the 5th floor. It’s accessible either by escalators and stairs or by elevator.
The decoration of the restaurant is cozy with typical elements from Italy, such as pictures of Milano or a vintage placard of “Campari Aperitivo”. There is a nice view through the window to the Tagbilaran Harbor and Maribojoc Bay. For those who want to smoke they will find tables with ceiling fans outside the air-conditioned restaurant. “Free Wi-Fi” is provided as well.
Since the “Gelateria Milano” is mainly an ice cream parlor you can notice immediately the home made Italian ice cream displayed in a stylish “Art Deco” freezer. The available flavors of the ice cream are very well chosen by Paolo, the friendly owner of the place. You will find beside the typical flavors like the all-time Italian classics “Amarena”, “Pistacia” and “Stracciatella”, more tropical flavors like “Ripe Mango”, “Green Mango Sorbet” and “Ube” among others. Beside the ice cream you can taste an authentic Italian “Espresso”, “Cappuccino” or “Macchiato” cafe. My personal favorite is the “Irish Coffee”. That’s really a surprise, because so far I was only able to find “Irish Coffee” in 5* Hotels in the Philippines. For the small appetite they offer toasts or crepes with different fillings.
On top of all – the service is friendly and the prices are very reasonable!
It’s a place to come back over and over again.
Try there new flavor RED HORSE! :)
